A tough weekend

To say this weekend was a struggle would be an understatement. We headed to Kimbolton for round one of their series and so did everybody! 51 of the best drivers in the UK and two world champions. To add to our issues I was on a brand new Croc kart which I had never driven and we had not set up. Testing on Saturday did not go well, I could not get the kart to turn in and we were two seconds off the pace.

Dad worked hard, we made a number of changes, changed the axel, tracked the kart, upped the jet size and made some front end changes, at last the kart seemed better.

Sunday timed practise I was 12 which was a massive step from where I was on Saturday and looking forward to heat 1 where I started 11. My start was awful and I was totally overwhelmed putting me last, I battle back overtaking 7 but nonetheless it was disappointing. Heat two wasn't much better I took to the grass and bounced across the kerbs giving myself a drop down but, battled back and after penalties found myself in the B Final where I could only manage 8th. Stepping up from MiniMax has been a massive step for me and it seems a long time ago since I won my championship.
