PFI Autumn Cup Round 2

As we’ve come to expect another tough grid of 41 drivers for the PFI Autumn Cup Round 2… Gave myself a tough job after qualifying badly on the Saturday in really wet conditions…I just couldn’t get a clear lap and ended up battling when I should have been pushing and looking for clear space, this resulted in me starting pretty much last in both heats. Knowing that I really had to push to make up any space for the final I got my head down and worked hard in both heats making up 7 positions in Heat 1 and 10 positions in Heat 2 resulting in a starting position of 21 in the final. Weather conditions were changeable for the final with a downpour just before we went down to the grid, the track was on the change from wet to dry. All but one driver went out on varying grades of wets…unfortunately ours were very new which wasn’t going to help on a drying track but that’s what we had. I had a great start off the line and started working my way up the grid to 14th before I got to fixated on defending against a driver passing on the outside I forgot to protect my inside where a group of 6 karts took advantage and undertook me whilst my attention was elsewhere…touch lesson learnt. Crossed the line in 20th which was disappointing considering I had the pace for top 12 Heat 1 23 to 16th Heat 2 23 to 14th Final 31 to 20
