Whilton BKC

Another weekend racing this time at Whilton Mill BKC. Let us say Saturday was a disaster, drop down in one head and cracked my exhaust in the next heat, meant we were going home early. Dan Amor came to our rescue and leant us an exhaust which unfortunately did not have a gasket between the expansion chamber and baffle and sounded a little loud. We qualified 3rd but as in karting there are always a bunch of parents that have to protest anything, and we ended up with a DSQ starting us last for the final. We were second fastest on track and could have driven from back to front but had the radiator stay break going out on the dummy grid and that was Saturday done. Dad went to the bar!

Sunday was a better day, quailed fourth, drove to third in all the heats but again we had to wait for our result as you are not meant to out qualify "some people" thankfully, we started third for the final and got off to a good start taking second by "oblivion" but was a little too eager to take the lead at “pit bend” which sent us wide and lost 4 positions, battled hard and drove back to fourth. Sad we were not on the podium but we are growing in confidence.

Thank you to all at the BKC, the Stewards, Marshalls all who did a great job in very hot conditions also a big thank you to the medics who strapped my ribs.

Congratulations to all the winners
