Whilton Round 6

harryfriellracing I seriously don’t remember ever being so cold and wet as at Whilton this weekend...it was a busy grid of 49 cadets. I had great pace in Saturday practice with changeable weather conditions. Mum had promised me no rain on Sunday but that certainly wasn’t the case. Heat 1 wasn’t great only making up 2 positions finishing 19th, heat 2 my pace was stronger and I managed to finish 6th. The final I started 18th as always it started raining whilst we were in parc ferme resulting in a mad rush to change tyres...no time to change gearing, tyre pressures or get wetsuit on😬... managed to get on the grid with seconds to spare. Oh if anyone found a rear wheel rolling around that was mine...would be great to get it back as won’t run so smoothly on 3 wheels😆 Let’s just say I need more practice in the wet and leave it there 😆...lots learnt and plenty to still learn...like listening to @lewhall_ and actually doing what he says 😬 The team had a great laugh 😆 at me when a drowned quivering mess arrived back at the awning after the race...mum actually had to drain the water 💦 out of my boots. Thanks as always for all the race craft tips and advise from all the lads in the awning @joshagambar @vlc_79_80 @thomas_cy_86 @milesturnbull_racing including all their dads and BIG thanks to the boss @lewhall_ for all you advise and patience. Thanks to Bontoff for the 🚀, @newkart for the awesome Xenon chassis, @stustretton_media & @jjreast for the awesome 📷 and my sponsors DPS & @orangetreesbw 😁2h
